INTRODUCTION
Lead around and back, with crossed hand hold, partners turning towards each other with hands still held to return. 16 bars
BODY
1 Slip sides:partners sidestep into each other's place (RULE - move L in front and R behind) and dance in place (4 bars) then repeat the movement back to place (4 bars).(see ENDNOTE) 8 bars
2 Crossover: top gents cross R to R to take the opposite lady's L hand.  As soon as they are clear, the side gents do likewise.  All turn, and the gents move on to turn their 2nd corner lady R hand and face into the set. 8 bars
Top gents again cross the set, side gents cross and gents turn their 1st corner lady L hand and dance back to turn their partners R hand in place. 8 bars
3 Into Line and Cast Off:1st top couple continue their turn to face out of the set and drop hands while all other couples turn cross handed into line behind them (2 bars). In the line, gents are behind 1st gent and ladies behind 1st lady, 2nd tops are last in line and the side couples (RULE!) dance into their R of the gap between top couples.
Leading dancers cast off L and R to meet in their opposite place, turn in, take inside hand hold (4 bars) and lead back to place, followed in line by the other couples(4 bars). Dancers drop hands, turn to face partners and dance the Rise and Grind on each foot (4 bars), take crossed hands and turn into place (2 bars).

4 Step and turn: dropping L hands, partners half turn in place so that the gents face out and the ladies in, take the L hand of their corner to form a circle (2 bars) and dance the Rise and Grind (2 bars). All drop R hands and the gents turn their corner lady L hand and their partner R hand (4 bars). 8 bars
5 House around corners: Taking crossed hand hold, top couples and their 1st corner couples house around each other. 8 bars
First Figure - Advance and Retire
1 Top couples:
Advance and retire twice, with crossed hand hold.
8 bars
House around each other. 8 bars
2 Side couples now dance 1. 16 bars
BODY 56 bars
Second Figure - Ladies and Gents Chain
1 Top couples:
Ladies chain: R hands in the centre, L to turn the opposite gent, dance back R to R and turn partners R hand in place.

Gents chain: they pass R to R to give R hand to their opposite lady (2 bars) and turn her in place (2 bars), pass back L to L (2 bars) to turn their partners L hand in place (2 bars). 8 bars
Gents turn and chain:They dance in and turn each other R hand one full turn (2 bars), turn their opposite lady L hand (2 bars) pass back R to R (2 bars) and turn partners R hand in place (2 bars). 8 bars
House around each other: taking crossed hand hold, the dancing couples house around each other. 8 bars
2 Side ladies now lead to dance 1. 32 bars
BODY 56 bars
FINISH
1 Circle: all take hands in a circle and advance and retire twice. 8 bars
2 Sidestep R and L: with hands still held, all sidestep anti-clockwise (2 bars) and dance in place (2 bars), sidestep back and dance in place (4 bars). 8 bars
3 Circle: all advance and retire twice. 8 bars
4 Sidestep L and R: with hands still held, all sidestep clockwise (2 bars) and dance in place (2 bars), sidestep back and dance in place (4 bars). 8 bars
5 Swing partners with ceili hold. 8 bars
ENDNOTE
Whenever the sidestep is danced to jigs the 2 bar 'dance in place' movement should properly be executed using the Rise and Grind step described in the Figure Dance Glossary.
